ELIZABETH MATA

Elizabeth (Liz) Mata joined ATLAS Navigators, LLC as a Partner on January 1st, 2025.  Liz oversees our CMMS CPAs & Advisors PLLC location – an ATLAS Navigators, LLC, firm – in Levelland, Texas.

Liz’s love of tax and accounting started at a young age, learning to prepare tax returns for her family.  This led to elective courses in high school, initiating her interest in accounting, and ultimately solidifying her degree path in college.  Post graduation, Liz worked as the assistant to the CFO of a local bank, handling monthly financial statements and compiling shareholder reports.  This provided her excellent hands-on experience – both in accounting and customer service.  “Customer service has taught me how to listen to our clients and work to find the most effective solutions in an efficient manner.”

Since graduating, Liz has racked up an impressive 20 years of experience in tax and bookkeeping, including 6 years providing dedicated support to business owners in the farming industry, 2 years preparing Audit reports, and 11 years of tax and accounting management.

Liz has truly found her niche in the accounting industry where she can put-to-use her pure love of working with numbers!  Her favorite project?  Apart from helping her clients, Liz most enjoys preparing business taxes for local enterprises, and helping clients understand the complexities of their own taxes by breaking them down in a manner that can be easily understood.

“I am excited to be a partner with ATLAS/CMMS.  To collaborate with different departments and locations, and to be a leader to those around me.  Along with greater decision-making power, this gives me a voice to support our local team members, and help them solve problems for our clients.  Being part of ATLAS leadership, I know that our firm can provide solutions to so many businesses and individuals.  We are not only dedicated to listening to our clients, but strive to serve our clients’ best interests.  I love having access to the knowledge base found within ATLAS as a large firm, while maintaining close relationships with clients which is something that usually only comes with smaller firms.”

Outside of work, Liz enjoys being active in the Levelland community by volunteering with Marigold and the Levelland Chamber Ambassadors.  Volunteering with these groups gives Liz an opportunity to support local businesses, helping them and the community thrive!
