What to Do if You Can’t Meet The 2025 Tax Filing Deadline
Are you worried about not filing your taxes by the April 15 deadline this year? What you need is a way to gain more time to file – without incurring penalties.
Dan Burrus, the ATLAS Tax Manager for our Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Marion, Illinois offices, recommends requesting a filing extension. Burrus spoke with WSILTV News 3 in Carterville, Illinois, today. On behalf of ATLAS CPAs & Advisors, he informs the community that extended tax filings are due by the October 15 tax deadline.
It’s important to remember that even if you file for a tax extension, you must pay the taxes you owe by April 15. Paying by April 15 allows you to avoid penalties and interest (IF you owe taxes).
