PATRICIA PHILLIPS

Patricia Phillips, EA, MST, joined ATLAS as a Partner on January 1st, 2024 when her firm merged with ATLAS CPAs & Advisors to become our second and third locations in California.

Patty has been in the tax and accounting industry for more than 35 years. She first discovered her love for bookkeeping during a high school course. “Bookkeeping speaks to my desire for organization. I took that class, and knew what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I enjoy helping a business owner make their bookkeeping neat and orderly – it tells a story.”

She achieved her Associates in Business, followed by earning her EA (Enrolled Agent) designation with the IRS in 1997. Patty then went on to earn her Bachelors in Accounting from Golden Gate University, and finished with a Masters in Taxation from William Howard Taft University in Santa Ana, California.

Patty ran her own small firm for many years, focusing primarily on individual income tax clients, small businesses and their owners, and payroll and bookkeeping services. Patty merged her business with another small firm in 2018, establishing the foundation for her two locations: Marysville and Colusa, California.

Her real passion is education. “I love teaching someone something new so they can improve and elevate themselves. My team members know that I will always take the time to help them learn. I want them to be the best they can be – knowledgeable, confident, and successful.” Patty served as an Adjunct Instructor at Yuba Community College for more than 9 years, teaching bookkeeping, payroll, individual income tax, and business math.

I knew a merger with ATLAS would provide my employees and clients with benefits that I could not provide myself, as a small business owner. I can now offer my clients services that were not available to them in the past. Our clients’ needs are changing and being part of ATLAS makes it easy for us to address and meet those needs.” Outside of the office, Patty loves spending time with her beautiful horses.
